Happy National Custodian Day! This week, our Woodfin word of the week is compare, and absolutely NOBODY compares to our wonderful Woodfin custodians! We are so lucky to have the hardest working, kindest, custodians who bring a positive attitude to everything they do! Thank you so much and enjoy your special day! #WoodfinWordoftheWeek #NationalCustodianDay #LeadTheClimb

Woodfin Elementary is thrilled to announce our teacher of the year for the 26-27 school year! Congratulations Ms. Marzullo! Ms.Marzullo brings 100% energy, positivity, and hard work to every aspect of her job. She is always willing to go the extra mile to provide support to students and staff to ensure positive learning outcomes. This willingness to serve is demonstrated through little things like offering to make copies, cover duties, and brainstorm, as well as through huge things like being an expert in student performance data, being the SIT chair, and being an organizer and facilitator of many of the infrastructures that run Woodfin. Samantha always has positive things to say about Woodfin students and models the belief that all students have great potential. She is attuned to student needs and looks out for the emotional well-being of students and pushes them to be their best academically. Ms. Marzullo is highly deserving of this honor and is certainly a cut above the rest!

Woodfin Elementary School Garden Club, mark your calendars! October garden clubs will be held on Tuesday October 7th and Tuesday October 28th!

🍎💛 Happy Teacher Assistant Day! 💛🍎
Today we’re celebrating the amazing Teacher Assistants, Ms. Rice, Ms. Dillingham, and Mx. Em, who help our school shine every single day! From guiding small groups, to offering extra care and support, to making sure our classrooms run smoothly — we couldn’t do it without them!
We are so grateful for their hard work, kindness, and dedication to our students. Please join us in saying THANK YOU to our wonderful Teacher Assistants!

One Year Stronger, Together
Friday Woodfin Wolverines gathered to remember all that we are grateful for one year after Helene.
🌟 Each student wrote something they’re grateful for on a paper chain link. In their classrooms, students linked their gratitudes together to make a class chain. As a school, we joined all our chains into one giant school chain — a powerful symbol of how we are all connected and have so much to be thankful for.
🤝 Afterward, students enjoyed time to connect and play with friends from all grade levels, celebrating our strength, unity, and hope.
We are so proud of our Woodfin Wolverines for honoring the past and building a brighter future together.

Woodfin Community Garden Open House on Saturday 10/4 from 10am-1pm. We invite people from the community to come to tour the garden (and see all the beautiful sunflowers!) and learn about opportunities to be involved. It will also be a great opportunity to chat with volunteers and hear about this first season of building the garden!

This week's Woodfin word of the week is “Analyze,” which means to look at something carefully.
In the Media Center, students are practicing this skill in fun ways:
🧱 Building with blocks and LEGOs — thinking carefully about how pieces fit together.
📚 Learning the parts of a book with hand motions — paying close attention to each section.
💬 Ask your student: “What is something at school you looked at very carefully today?”
