🎉🔊💃 Glow sticks and laughter filled the Woodfin Elementary School gym on Friday as kids enjoyed a dance party to celebrate their return to school.
The Woodfin School Improvement Team decorated the darkened gym with lamps, party lights, a DJ booth, and glowing balloons while kid-friendly dance music and “spooky” tunes created a joyful atmosphere. The celebration, originally scheduled for later in the year, moved up to make a more memorable transition back to school for the students.
“Friday was a great day!” said school counselor Jeff Levenson. “It was so nice to see students' smiling faces enter our building after a month-long disruption. Without our students our building is just that, a building. It is our students who bring life and excitement to that building. It was evident that students felt connected and safe by the smiles on their faces and laughter that could be heard all around. We all had a reason to celebrate being together again.”
