Math play, fun, and games continued with the Math Department’s second Julia Robinson Math Festival, this time offered to CHS students. Students were encouraged to rethink their role as “math-ers”, and had opportunities to engage in hands-on math learning activities alongside their teachers. According to CHS student Ash Waters, “I liked the “Jumping Julia” game the most because it was both and fun and challenging without being too hard to accomplish.” Locust Himes agreed: “Yes, it was fun getting to hop around a little bit!”. Student Sarah Curry preferred the Math Doodles. Why? “Because I could do it on the first try and it was easy and fun”.
Stay tuned for more math fun as the Math Department plans to host a community Math Festival at the CHS Open House event on Friday, March 17th.
