West Buncombe Elementary School hosted a heartfelt Grandparents and Veterans Day celebration on November 6th, bringing together students, families, and community members to honor two groups who play a vital role in children’s lives.

Third-grade students gathered in the school’s theater to perform a series of patriotic and family-themed songs celebrating America and the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren. Students' faces lit up with excitement the moment they spotted their grandparents in the audience, cheering and singing along.

Following the performance, guests were invited to the cafeteria for a breakfast provided by families and local community partners. Laughter and conversation filled the air as generations connected over juice and homemade treats.

The morning wrapped up with students escorting their grandparents back to their classrooms, where they proudly shared their schoolwork, played grandparent-themed games, and created memories that will last a lifetime.
