Based on the Hurricane's tremendous impacts to our families and neighborhoods, the decision has been made to close all Buncombe County Schools for the entire week, Monday Sept. 30 through Friday Oct. 4. These will be annual leave days for staff. In the days, weeks, and months ahead, the school system is committed to continue supporting our families and staff. We hope you and your family continue to be safe. We'll continue to keep you updated as our team works to safely reopen our schools. Thank you.

CHS students and families, please join us for Meet the Teacher on Friday, August 23th at 10:00am. Students will have the opportunity to meet their teachers, pick up class schedules, and connect with services available from CHS.

High School Summer Academy is for students in grades 9-12 who need to recover a course previously failed or move more rapidly toward graduation by taking full credit courses. CHS families and students, CHS's Spring 2024 Graduation ceremony will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 13th at AB Tech's Ferguson Auditorium. More information to come soon!

CHS seniors are invited on an overnight camping trip to Lake Logan on May 16th and 17th. Students have received permission slip forms and eligibility requirements. Permission forms are due May 10th. For more information, see attached flyer or call 828-686-7734.

CHS Prom will be held on Friday, May 10th from 8:00 - 11:00pm at Community Church at 11 Rocket Drive in Asheville. Tickets are $10.00.

Our students had a blast at the Southern Conference Education Days at Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville! Students enjoyed a morning of high-energy basketball fun, and found inspiration in talented college athletes, musicians, and performers! Special thanks to the Regional Sports Commission, Harrah's, and the Southern Conference for making these rewarding days possible! Check the BCS Facebook for more photos!

How much screen time is enough? All BCS families are invited to a special screening of SCREENAGERS, March 28 at 6pm in the NBMS theater. Admission is free.
