Osteen, Debby (4th grade)

Welcome to our Classroom!                  Mrs. Debra A. Osteen (Debby)
Woodfin Elementary School

Dear Parents/Guardians,
My name is Debby Osteen, and I am honored to have your children in my classroom.  I received a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and was awarded my teaching credential in Early Childhood Development in 2006 at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California.  I began my career with the Los Angeles Unified School District teaching 3rd grade.  I moved to Buncombe County and started working at Woodfin as a Title I Tutor.  Later I taught 5th grade, 2nd grade, and am currently enjoying teaching 4th grade.
I believe it is important that students are given a safe environment to learn and grow in.  That includes feeling comfortable making mistakes and sharing their thinking in the classroom. Working together with the parents is an essential part of helping students to develop and reach their highest potential.
Homework helps solidify the lessons that are being taught throughout the year.  A weekly Homework Log and a Newsletter will be sent home with room on it for notes to be written should you need to communicate with me.  You may also send me an email or call the school office.
I look forward to working closely with you toward your child's success.
